I am a product of Unit 4, as were the 5 generations before me. I graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1999, attended Dartmouth College (2003), and graduated from Vermont Law School in 2006.
After law school, I returned to Champaign with my husband, Ryan Bradley, to start our family and build our careers. I have been a practicing attorney in this community in the field of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation for the past sixteen and a half
years, and I am currently a partner of Holder Law Group, LLP.
Ryan and I have four children, ages 7, 10, 12, and 15. As a parent of a Unit 4 student, I see daily the pluses and minuses of our district. As an active community member, and a very active community volunteer (particularly during the pandemic), I am painfully aware of the inequalities and needs running deeply in Champaign.
Further, as a practicing attorney in Champaign-Urbana, I am able to put my education and professional skills to use, enabling me to bring insight at a deeper level when dealing with legal and business issues impacting the school district.
"The schools are the very foundation of our community."
-Betsy Holder
The Unit 4 School Board oversees and is responsible for the single largest educating body in Champaign, Illinois. Educating our children well is tantamount to their successful futures. The tasks for the Board are not without major challenges, however, all challenges can be overcome with work and determination. Our community is owed a productive, responsible, and accountable Board of Education.
To the undecided voter- I will listen to you. I will do my best to respond to your communications, and I will be as transparent as the law allows. To my potential colleagues on the Board of Education- my positions will be based solely on policy and not personality. I will be honest and forthcoming in all of my actions.
